Aircall is introducing a new authentication system that relies on Amazon Cognito, which provides management for user authentication as well as access control.
This new authentication system will provide increased system security for Aircall users, as well as pave the way for future improvements (including a Single Sign-On feature).
This new authentication system will start rolling out May 2021, with existing users being progressively moved off the old system.
In order to ensure a smooth transition, users will need to log out of their applications and back in.
How will the change work?
Once the new system has been released in May, new users will not need to take any action.
For existing users and admins, an in-app/Dashboard message will appear asking users to logout and back in. We will also send an email informing you when the change occurs. Users and admins will be able to dismiss the messages, however will need to log out and back in to ensure the change is successfully completed.
⚠️ Please note: admins will only be able to change the email address for users who are on the same authentication system. To ensure there are no issues with managing your Aircall account, please make sure all admins and users sign out and back in once the change has occurred.
If a user does not logout and back in to the Aircall application, they will eventually be automatically logged out to ensure the change can be completed. Please note that users will not be able to receive calls until they log back into the application.
While Single Sign-On (SSO) is not included in this change, the new authentication will allow this feature to be rolled out later in 2021.
