NDI & SDA

NDI (Numéro de désignation d’installation) - This is single number often referred to as the “Head Number” or “Billing Number”. The NDI is usually associated to other numbers referred to as SDA’s or secondary numbers. The NDI will also usually be listed on the invoice with your current carrier.

SDA (Sélection Directe à l’arrivée) - These are additional numbers often referred to as secondary numbers that are attached to the NDI. They are generally not specified on the invoice, however, the quantity of SDAs will normally be noted.

The NDI and SDA are relevant when porting Geographic/Local French Numbers. It’s recommended to confirm with your current provider the NDI/SDA classifications of your numbers before submitting a porting request. Confirming your NDI and associated SDA before porting will assist our team with ensuring your porting request is submitted correctly on the first attempt.

Types of Porting Requests

Numbers

Description

Totale
(Full port)

NDI + SDA

Porting the NDI (head number) and all the attached SDAs

Partielle simple
(Partial simple port)

SDA (or a selection)

Porting one or a selection of numbers, the NDI (head number) is not included

Partielle complexe
(Partial complex port)

NDI + one of a selection of SDA

I would like to port only my NDI, or my NDI and a selection (not all) of my SDAs

I must therefore designate a new NDI for my operator, that is chosen among the SDAs that I do not wish to port.

RIO Codes

The term RIO stands for "relevé d'identité opérateur" (statement of operator identity). This is a string of numbers and letters required to validate single line porting requests and mobile porting requests. It’s recommended to contact your current provider and confirm the RIO codes associated to your numbers before submitting a porting request.

Regulatory Requirements

French numbers on Aircall’s network have regulatory requirements that need to be met before they can be fully activated and used. You can read more about why these requirements are necessary here.

It’s recommended to have these required regulatory documents available before submitting a porting request. You can review the requirements for France here and a brief summary below.

⚠️ Please note you will need to have a “Local” address that matches the area code of your number if you plan to port Geographic numbers.
