Aircall uses Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) to notify the phone when you receive new incoming calls. This way, the app does not have to consistently stay connected to the Aircall server in the background (which would cause additional battery drain).
In order for the Android app to receive notifications, please make sure your device has Internet access and that Wi-Fi is kept on during sleep mode. To do so:
- Open your Wifi Settings
- Go to Advanced Wi-Fi and select Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep
- Select Always
In case you are using system tools like Battery-Saver, Juice Defender, Antivirus, PrivacyGuard, xPrivacy or similar, please deactivate these tools temporarily or make sure they do not interfere with your Aircall app.
Some mobile phones have a built-in battery saver feature that keeps running in the background to monitor the apps you use. This can lower the performance of your Android app, prevent background sync or call notifications, so we recommend deactivating this feature for Aircall.
Below is an example of how to deactivate this feature on a Huawei mobile phone.
- Open Huawei's Phone Manager and go to Battery Manager
- Select Protected Apps
- Mark Aircall as a protected app.
