Why QoS is important ?
When there is instability on your network, some of the initial information can get lost in transit which can result in gaps in the conversation, call drops and/or degradation in the quality of a call.
In order to avoid that, specific settings can be applied to your router in order to prioritize voice traffic over lower priority traffic on your network. These settings are most known as QoS (Quality of Service). Keep in mind that even if you have a good bandwidth, the stability of your internet network is very important too!
How to set up QoS
QoS rules can be defined on a router that supports this service. If your router does not support QoS, we recommend the following :
- Up to 10 users : Draytek Vigor 2925 series
- More than 10 users : Cisco Meraki range
- A middle-ground solution that requires ease with IT : Ubiquiti EdgeRouter PRO
Once you have the adequate router, you can set up QoS rules from your router's interface using the media server IP addresses below. It would be better if you're able to set them all up, but make sure that you have at least set those that correspond to your location.
|SERVER LOCATION||MEDIA SERVER IP ADDRESS RANGE||CIDR NOTATION|
126.96.36.199 to 188.8.131.52,

In addition, we recommend to set up a QoS using the DSCP tag as aircall enables it in capable browser (currently Google Chrome). There is currently a known issue regarding DSCP with Windows which should be solved in a further Chrome version.
You're now all set up!
